Mexico to link up with Rocky
Contos and J.D. Batove.
The Mission: to complete
2-5 expeditionary 1st
Descents in the lush, green
mountains surrounding the
coastline in Guerrero. This region has yet to be explored, and will
help complete Rocky's future guidebook. To the North, Rocky has
discovered many classics in the Copper Canyon region. Within this
area he has explored the Rio Marabasco. This is to give a taste of
what the area has to offer....check it here. The mission will prove to
be a daunting task, since the nature of these areas are remote,
jungle, unknown and very sensitive to flash floods....an infamous
account is told here. We all are pulling for Cody and the crew...and
tales of epic days are most certainly in our [the reader's] future! So
stay tuned for their findings! Here is a couple of little links : map of the

| Exploratory Descents....in California. With the water just about gone in West, we started looking at some of the goods that we have accumulated over the years prior. First is the massive slide....which didn't have enough water (expected) to run, but instead it was just a great site to see...as kayakers. Next was some runs down Cherry....and then off to explore Highland Creek. First run by Cali Locals...we decided to take a look at the extremely steep last 2 miles of the run. Putting in below the reservoir, we ended the run (including the 2.5 hike out) in 2 hours. The video tells the rest of the story. Last but not least is a little gem that is still waiting for those winter rains....stay tuned for that beast. Enjoy everyone!! |

| This was the last river on our list....and man did we get lucky. There was everything on this gem....slides, gorges, falls, mank, world class camping, remote, mota fields and critters. So check out the video, |

| Here is the second and final update for the Ixtapa 2007 1st Descents. This features the Rio Arteaga and the Rio La Laja. We had an unfortunate chain of events happen on the Arteaga, but were still able to run some big stuff. Check out the Video. Click Here for Story! |
