Throughout the trip some water levels where undesirably high, due to Hurricane Jimena just offshore. Check out the "Making of Haymaker Episode 3", enjoy the free product and pictures! | With the traditional season over with, one new creek finally comes into optimum range. The ultimate in gorged out creeking...Dipper Creek. It saw it's first descent the previous year by the TRL crew, which was an undertaking in itself. The 1st D was nominated as the "Expedition of the Year" for the amount of work such a feat requires. Intrigued, this year our team showed up with the intentions of experiencing this amazing place, do some great kayaking and check out some of the previously unrun drops. |

| After four days of glorious waterfallin', there was one final stretch of creek in towards the center that was untouched. Dropping into the dubbed "Tenzing Norgay Canyon" was a sketchy and dangerous experience, as it required a 3 pitch traverse on the side of the canyon wall above a certain death log jam. Once in, Aaron Johnson and Cody Howard where rewarded with unbelievable sights and cool double drop character boating. |
| Downstream of TN Canyon, is Vertigo Gorge a series of four demanding and tricky drops that will have boaters on their toes all the way to the last boof. The exit of the magical gorge puts you at the lip of the monster...Rock Snot Falls. An 8' vert to slide to 40+ foot must make boof (shallow landing) that Cody looked at and finally ran 5 days later. AJ followed up the descent with a beautiful line that came up a little to short which resulted in a painful / loud hit off the rocks. Downstream is a BC version of "Groove Tube", followed by the final falls, a gorgeous drop into the confluence with the Squamish River. Top to bottom on Dipper is one of the best day(s) of creeking you could ask for. Entering in on the Carnival Creek trib will definitely spice up your day. Check out an intense full segment in HAYMAKER! |
